Bramshill Investments has strengthened its emerging markets debt capabilities with the appointment of two former Lazard Asset Management executives, as the alternative investment manager expands a strategy launched earlier this year under Arif Joshi.
Bramshill launched its long-only emerging markets debt strategy in March and has since grown assets in the vehicle to approximately $200m. Joshi has previously said the firm also intends to introduce a hedge fund focused on developing-market opportunities in 2027.
Chris Milonopoulos and Sergio Valderrama have joined the firm as managing directors and portfolio managers, with Milonopoulos responsible for opportunities across Asia, Central and Eastern Europe and the Middle East, while Valderrama will cover Latin America and Africa.
The two executives joined Bramshill at the end of August and are based in New York, reporting to Joshi, the firm's head of emerging markets.
Milonopoulos brings 15 years of experience at Lazard, where he most recently headed fixed-income trading after previously working within the firm's emerging markets debt business.
Valderrama spent 16 years at Lazard and was most recently a director and portfolio manager focused on sovereign credit and hard-currency debt.
