Hedge funds have long prided themselves on generating alpha by interpreting the same data that everyone has access to better than other market participants. The industry, however, faces a not-so-silent data issue that threatens to chip away its fundamental value proposition. Our latest research reveals widespread data workflow fragmentation across its infrastructure, which in turn is creating costly inefficiencies across fund operations. This report examines whether transformation will be driven by competitive necessity or investor compulsion. While change appears inevitable, fund managers can either lead this transformation or be compelled through it - but they cannot avoid it indefinitely.
